Gender Care Initiative (GCI) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment and development of women and young people. To this end, it advocates the provision and promotion of programs and policies that will enhance the lives of women and young people from rights based perspective. Established in 2000, GCI is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (RC 15278). Our Vision is a Nigeria where the health, economic, political and socio-cultural rights of women & young people are recognized and respected. To attain this vision, we advance the rights, enhance the life and empower women and young people the most vulnerable groups in our society. Our program focus areas are Rights Advancement, Empowerment (economic, political and education), Gender Mainstreaming and Health. Gender Care Initiative carries out its work using these six broad strategies- Research & Policy Analysis, Advocacy & Community Mobilization, Training and Capacity building, Service Delivery, Information, Education and Communication (IEC) and Networking and Collaboration
