The Reach and Rise ® Mentoring Program is a community based program that serves youth ages 9 to 17 years old thru the Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA in Dubuque, IA. Youth are matched with an adult volunteer who provide social, emotional, and behavioral support to their mentee. Through this support, mentees have the opportunity to increase their understanding, awareness, skill building, and ability to make positive behavioral changes. The Reach and Rise ® Program takes a therapeutic approach to mentoring so that youth are able process their thoughts and feelings, normalize their experiences, challenges, and developmental milestones, and reduce isolation. The Reach and Rise ® Mentoring Program is a national program of the Y-USA and is located in 38 states around the country. The Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA is a leading non profit organization committed to youth development, healthy living, social responsibility, eliminating racism and empowering women. The Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA serves over 5,000 members in our community. The Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA is the largest child care service provider in the tri-state area and employ a staff of 250.
