DIL UK is dedicated to providing quality education to disadvantaged children, especially girls, by establishing and operating schools in the underdeveloped regions of Pakistan, with a strong focus on gender equality and community participation. No child in Pakistan, no matter how poor or underprivileged, should by denied access to quality education. All children should have equal opportunity to reach their full potential and contribute toward the socio-economic betterment of their communities. Since its inception in 1997, DIL has created over 394 DIL schools in some of the poorest and most remote areas of Pakistan. The DIL model is to use existing DIL schools and teachers to roll out and pilot scalable teaching methodologies and child centred learning. As a result, in just three years, DIL has managed to positively impact 252,500 DIL and non-DIL students in government and community schools, as well as increase girls enrolment by 25 percent. More than 85,500 DIL students are being provided quality education through DIL’s teacher training with mobile and virtual learning hubs. DIL UK has been successfully managing and enhancing the operation of a number of DIL schools in these underserved areas of Pakistan as well as undertaking ground breaking initiatives such as the launch of Technology enabled Teacher Training, the Graduate Gateway Program and the Vocational Training Centre in Pakistan and England.
