The mission of Operation HOPE-Vista (OHV) is to provide a safe environment for both homeless families and single women to help support rebuilding lives and regaining hope. We help north county homeless families regain economic stability within 90 days by providing a safe, respectful space and intensive coaching to break each family’s specific challenges. North County saw a double digit increase in the homeless population last year, one of only 10 areas in the United States. With the national average age of a homeless person being 9 years old, we focus on breaking the cycle of homelessness by working with the entire family through classes, coaching and counseling. A close partnership with Vista United makes sure that the kids stay in school. Our program is community funded and relies on more than 100 volunteers each week to run the operation. We are always looking for new and unique ways to partner with others to sustain and advance our program.
