TOLFA (Tree of Life for Animals) Animal Hospital & Shelter is a UK registered charity founded in 2005 in Rajasthan, India, in response to the lack of veterinary services and the significant amount of animal suffering that prevailed in this region. There are an estimated 30 million street dogs in India and approximately 40,000 free-roaming cows in the capital of Delhi alone. TOLFA’s primary aims focus on rabies eradication and humane population control of street dogs; rescue and care for all street animals; rural animal health for animals of local villagers; and education regarding animal welfare.
