Every year, more than 600 homeless and formerly homeless men, women, and children receive Carpenter's Shelter services, which attend to their unique needs with an individualized, holistic approach to care and facilitate lasting change. Available services include the following: - A 60-bed residential shelter with rooms for individuals and families, laundry and bathroom facilities, a kitchen, and more, - David's Place, a day shelter where chronically homeless visitors can meet their basic needs thanks to laundry and bathroom facilities, private lockers, and internet, phone, and voicemail services, - Winter Shelter, a seasonal hypothermia-prevention shelter operated in collaboration with the City of Alexandria from November to April, - Supportive services, which incorporate case managers as well as specialized providers like our Housing Locator and Employment and Education Navigator and engage clients during and after residential care to ensure success, and - Carpenter's Clinic, an onsite medical clinic operated by volunteer doctors and nurses. Carpenter's Shelter is honored to have earned the support of our community and proud that individual and corporate contributions comprise nearly half of our annual revenue. Support like this and visionary leadership from our Executive Director and Board of Directors have made it possible for Carpenter's Shelter to embark on an exciting and ambitious building redevelopment project.
