Established in July 1995, Ban Landmines Campaign Nepal (NCBL) was created with the objective of raising awareness within civil society in regards the loss of lives and property caused by landmines in Nepal. It currently working on three pillars of mine action, including education, victim assistance and advocacy. NCBL has since partnered with the Women's Development Society (WODES) and Nayayatra (Naya) to deliver various services, opportunities and educational workshops to victims, survivors and other marginalized groups such as persons with disabilities as well as women and girls. Examples of its various initiatives include the Girl Child Education Program delivered in partnership with WODES to provide education scholarships to young girls who have either lost a parent due to the conflict, have been physically impacted by remnants of war, and/or cannot afford to pay school fees. Since it began, the initiative has helped over 800 girls throughout Nepal receive education opportunities. Read more here: http://nepal.icbl.org/.
