Mental Health First Aid Training (Adult) with SX6 Coalition
Thursday, August 22, 2019
9:00 AM - Duration: 8 hours
Behind every child there is an adult caregiver whose mental health matters! You cannot predict when a mental health crisis will occur, and it is our Coalition’s goal to provide the support parents and caregivers need, even in the midst of a crisis. Families with higher stress levels are at a higher risk for a mental health crisis. MHFA is a national program to teach the skills to respond to signs of mental illness and substance use. The training is available for SX6 Coalition members at no cost. Each organization may sign up multiple participants, though organizations will not be guaranteed more than one slot. Once the first 30 slots are filled, there will be a waitlist. The training will be held at United Way for Greater Austin (2000 E MLK Jr. Blvd) on Thursday, August 22, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Participants must attend for the entire day. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Link to Register
