October 2017 micro grants applications CLOSED

In October 2017, the MissionBox Philanthropic Fund offered grant funding for nonprofits and charities, from anywhere in the world, the opportunity to win $250 micro grants. Nonprofits applied by sharing their service delivery best practices with other interested MissionBox.com nonprofit readers.

Grants were awarded to the following applicants:

Afghan Medical Outreach Organization

The Afghan Medical Outreach Organization is based in Kabul, Afghanistan provides healthcare services through Afghan schools. AMOO strives to deliver better healthcare and socio-economic services to the population of Afghanistan by working in close coordination with the Ministry of Health and the nongovernmental institutions which are working in health or socio-economic sectors. AMOO collaborates with relevant institutions, stakeholders and partners by providing services at various levels of program implementation including research, baseline survey, program execution and impact studies.

The Arc Pikes Peak

This Colorado Springs, Colorado-based nonprofit that promotes and protects the human rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the communities of the Pikes Peak Region throughout their lifetimes.

Chhahari Nepal for Mental Health

This organization in Patan, Nepal provides mental health care services with a holistic approach, and work to reintegrate people dealing with mental illness back into society. CNMH also works with families to help remove the stigma of mental illness and reestablish productive relationships.

Clear Path for Veterans

Clear Path for Veterans empowers service members, Veterans, and their families through supportive programs and services in a safe, respectful environment. Clear Path for Veterans is Central New York’s premier veteran resource center, operating 10 different veterans-focused programs.

CrossReach

Founded in 2005, CrossReach supports vulnerable populations in Scotland with a variety of services, including substance-use and addiction, family support, learning disabilities and eldercare/dementia support services. Formerly known as Church of Scotland Board of Social Responsibility, CrossReach employs 2000 people, working to provide social care.

Family Service of Roanoke Valley

Family Service of Roanoke Valley operates as a private 501(c)3 and has been serving the Roanoke Valley for 116 years. With the support of grantors, private foundations, corporate support, individual donors, public funders, contracted services and program service fees, more than 2,350 individuals and families access mental health services each year and address the emotional health issues holding them back from fully enjoying life.

YWCA Greater Austin

YWCA Greater Austin is on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, stand up for social justice, help families, and strengthen communities. The YWCA Greater Austin runs continuous workshops about eliminating racism and social justice issues, women and family counseling services and affordable child-care subsidy program for qualifying families.

YWCA Metropolitan Phoenix

YWCA Metropolitan Phoenix also works to eliminate racism and support women by providing financial education with local partners, community programming for senior centers and featuring women leaders in a Women's Empowerment Series with locally and nationally recognized speakers.
