Dear Austin-Travis County Child Care Providers:
We hope you are safe and well after what was a difficult week for families and businesses in Austin.
Austin Public Health (APH) and Workforce Solutions Capital Area (WFS) are partnering to provide bottled water to center and home-based child care licensed, registered, and listed child care programs. APH and WFS are offering a curbside bottled water pick-up on Monday, February 22, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the First Workers Day Labor Center located at 4916 North Interstate Highway 35, Austin, TX 78751. If your program is in need of clean water, click here to sign up for a pick-up time.
If your program needs water and all the time slots for the water distribution have been taken, please fill out this APH child care program supplies needs survey and note your need for water in question #22.
We also want to give you information to share with your staff and families about winter weather resources.

- The YMCA has 6 locations throughout Austin where folks in the community who do not have water can come for free hot showers.
- News about SNAP - SNAP recipients can now use their benefits for hot foods and ready-to-eat foods, such as rotisserie chicken or grocery store deli foods, at retailers that accept SNAP anywhere in the state through the end of March. Additionally, SNAP recipients to apply for replacement benefits for food lost or destroyed due to the severe weather.
