The National Council of Teachers of English is devoted to improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of education.
To help advance this mission, NCTE welcomes applications for its 2021 Research Foundation Grants program. Through the program, grants of up to $4,000 will be awarded in support of projects related to the teaching and learning of language, literacy, and culture. Proposals are welcome from teachers, teacher researchers, teacher educators, and scholars of language, literacy, and cultural studies.
Suggested topics include but are not limited to proposals focused on underrepresented populations, equity pedagogies, curriculum changes and the effect these changes have on students, school policies, changes in teaching methods, student interaction and learning, community literacy, home-school literacy relationships, afterschool programs, student literacy practices in and out of school, and other relevant subjects.
To be eligible, applicants must be a current member of NCTE.
See the National Council of Teachers of English website for complete program guidelines, application instructions, and information about previous award recipients.
