Deadline: November 1, 2020
Founded in 1920, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) is the world's largest mathematics education organization and advocates for high-quality mathematics teaching and learning for each and every student.
To help advance this mission, NCTM welcomes applications for its pre-K-6 classroom research grant. Through the program, grants of up to $6,000 will be awarded in support of classroom-based research in the area of precollege mathematics education conducted in collaboration with a college or university mathematics educator. Proposals may include but need not be restricted to research on one or more of the following topics: curriculum development and implementation; involvement of at-risk students or students from diverse backgrounds and experiences; students’ thinking about a particular mathematics concept or set of concepts; the connection of mathematics to other disciplines; focused learning and teaching of mathematics with embedded use of technology; and/or innovative assessment or evaluation strategies.
To be eligible, the primary applicant may be either a mathematics educator or a classroom teacher currently teaching math at the pre-K-6 level.
See the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
