STUDY REPORT. A Roadmap to Reducing Child Poverty from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. A Roadmap to Reducing Child Poverty reviews the research on linkages between child poverty and child well-being, and analyzes the poverty-reducing effects of major assistance programs directed at children and families. This report also provides policy and program recommendations for reducing the number of children living in poverty in the United States by half within 10 years. Read the report.
WEBSITE. New website provides resources and stories about the community development finance system to increase the visibility of it, and serve as a resource for those new to or interested in the field. The website launched last week explains key community development finance terms, walks visitors through the case for supporting the system, and features stories of successful places and projects the system has produced.
2-GEN PAST EVENT. 2019 Aspen ThinkXChange: Advancing Family Prosperity. National and state policymakers and systems leaders, practitioners, philanthropists, researchers, parents and private sector leaders — all 234 of them — came together to share bold ideas, generate new strategies, and identify critical partnerships to move families toward opportunity. By the end of the week, advocates of the two-generation (2Gen) approach and family-supportive policies left with fresh perspectives, tangible solutions to enhance family well-being, and enlightening stories from parents to better inform their work. STUDY. The economic impact of closing the racial wealth gap. The persistent racial wealth gap in the United States is a burden on black Americans, Hispanic and people of color, as well as the overall economy.
