Assigned User Course Overview on Group Layout Page
Admin can make courses available by making it display in a panel on the group layout page.
Assigned User Course View
Once users click on the course name, they will be taken into the Course Overview where they will see lessons and assessments. Any completed lessons will display a check to the left of the lesson title.
Assigned User Lesson View
Once an assigned member has clicked on a lesson title, they will be taken into the lesson screen and will see the following items to ensure they're completing each lesson and staying on track -
1) A "Completion" confirmation field that they can click to confirm they've completed the lesson.
2) Next and previous buttons to help them navigate to the next lesson or assessment, or to return to the last lesson/assessment.
3) A progress tracker on the right side of the lesson to let them know where they are in their course progress.
Assigned User Assessment View
When clicking on an assessment name from the course list, the user will go into the assessment page and will see all questions available for them to complete. Assessments may have one or more questions and the questions can be single select, multiple select, long written answer or short written answer.
If the users selects the wrong answer for a single select or multi-select question, they will see a prompt letting them know to try again and providing them with a hint as to the correct answer.
The response box will also highlight in red indicating that they have not selected the correct answer.
If the course creator has set a limit to the number of attempts, the user will be locked out of selecting options any further until the specified amount of time has passed.
Assessment questions collecting long and short written responses will not have a lockout mechanism.
Admin Course View
Group admin, course owners and assigned instructor will be able to track progress at the macro level by viewing the progress indicators on the course page.
For each lesson and assessment a progress indicator (currently a bar) will display and the admin can click on the percent color to see assigned users that have completed the training, those in progress and those not started.
Additionally on the right hand side of the course screen, users will see an assigned user panel that will allow the admin to see each assigned user's over all progress.
Admin can use the Action dropdown to un-assign a user or to "manage progress" and mark specific lessons and/or assessments complete.
Admin can assign other group members to the course at any time by clicking the Add button at the top right of the Assigned User panel. Admin will search in the pop up box by user name.
For any course admin can create new lessons, add existing lessons from other courses and add assessments at any time.
Admin Adding a New Lesson
When creating a new lesson, admin will be able to add the basic information and will then be able to add more details once they have clicked the Create button.
Admin will have ability to add content such as videos, text, hyperlinks and uploaded docs and to customize settings once they are in the lesson page in edit mode.
They can also use the completion settings to indicate the estimated and minimum amount of time it will take to complete the lesson.
Admin Adding a New Assessment
When adding a new Assessment, admin will be able to apply various settings to customize the overall assessment and the individual question. Customizations include:
- # of questions in the assessment
- # of tries allowed in each question
- Approval type (automatic vs. manual)
- Estimated time to complete each question
- Minimum Time to complete each question
- Lockout duration (specifying # of attempts allowed before the user is locked out) per question
For each question, the admin can then select to make it Single select, multi select, short text or long text (capturing a narrative response)
For single select or multi select questions, the admin can add custom selection options and choose those that are the correct answer.
They can add a custom prompt which will appear as the label of the question.
And they can also add a hint that will display if the user selects the wrong answer.
