Continue to encourage Bright By Text signups
This remains our best way to target messages down to the ZIP code level. Plus, given our working collaborations at the national level, state level, and local level, we can cover a broad range of needs and opportunities. Families can register children at different ages (0-8) and in English or Spanish by by visiting this local sign up page or texting SMARTATX to 274448. Sign up via the web page is preferred to texting when possible. When you are advertising Bright By Text, please list the website signup option first.
Share supportive SX6 messages from United Way ATX on your social media accounts
Based upon the nature of 2-1-1 calls, conversations with key local agencies, and data from BBT, we are seeing key issues and needs crop up in our local populations. Some recent examples:
- In Spanish: multiple request for access to food supplies,
- in English, requests for activities for physical activities in the home.
- For all populations, there are requests for guidance for adults feeling stressed and losing patience with their young children.
We ask that when you see these messages from us and United Way ATX, that you post them to your own social media accounts and Facebook groups. Follow United Way ATX (UnitedWayATX) on these channels to see content to share:
We will provide sample language that you can cut and paste - please feel free to customize as you wish and to add your own identifiers, such as hashtags and individuals. You can find the SX6 branding guidelines here.
The key here is to achieve broad, timely coverage. Some of these items will be time-sensitive (such as a weekend diaper pickup); we will be sure to indicate those. You can view our current queue of messages here.
If you wish for us to add a message or resource, please email Shalyn.Bravens@uwatx.org with your requested message, including the call to action and a link to a resource if appropriate. These will be social media messages so short is best (no more than 240 characters). Additional resources for nonprofit partners and staff will also be posted on the SX6 portal.
Be on the look out for broadcast media
We are developing spots for TV and radio, in English and Spanish, to address issues and resources common across our region. We will share those with you as they become available.
