About Notifications
Notifications maximize the effort put forth towards creating content by firing In-Product and Email notifications alerting group members that new content is available, events and other content have been updated, a task has been assigned and new members have joined or left. The alerts will vary based on the Group Role of each member. For example, members with "Viewer" role will not receive as many notifications as members with "Admin" role.
As a Community and Group member you can choose to receive In-Product notifications, which appear in the MissionBox toolbar, or Email notifications. Notification settings are easily adjusted and can be changed at any time.
In-Product Notifications
The In-Product notification log will now display in the upper left hand corner of the screen with a numeric indicator highlighting the number of new messages available. You can click on the icon to see a list of notifications related to activity for groups you are a member of. You can also access pertinent information by clicking on links available in the notification.
In-product alerts appear in the MissionBox header with a numeric count of unread alerts.

To view all notifications, click the conversation icon.

This will display the notification list, which has clickable links to content such as articles, events and questions to groups and user profiles as appropriate

Certain notifications, such as a notification alerting you that you've been invited to a group, will have a clickable "Accept" button to allow you to accept the invitation immediately.

Email Notifications
Email notifications will be received into the email account connect to your MissionBox user account and will contain specific messaging related to the event that has triggered the notifications such as a new "Urgent" article has been published
In order to receive MissionBox Engagement Communities email notifications, you will need to visit the user Notification management page, verify your email address and select "Enable" next to "Email Alerts". Emails will be sent from "MissionBox Alerts" with the address "alerts@missionbox.com".
To access the Notifications page, open the user menu by clicking the person icon in the upper left corner.

Go to the User Pages section, then select "Notifications" to access the Notification management page.

Once on the Notifications page, you will see the "Overall Notification Levels" that will set your default preferences for any group your member of

In order to Verify an email address, you will need to click "Verify" next to Email Alerts, and then retrieve the six digit verification code will be sent to the email address associated with your MissionBox user account.
Enter this number in the window that pops up on the Notifications page.

Once received, you can expect that notifications received via email will have the following qualities -
- Subject line of email will always content [MissionBox] at the front.
- Logo from Community Profile will display at top of email
- Email will contain links to relevant content and profiles
- MissionBox logo will display at bottom of email
- User will have links to update/disable notifications as needed.

Managing Notification Settings
Access the Notifications page in the User Menu left sidebar navigation to review and update settings for email notifications and in-product alerts.
To access the Notifications page, open the user menu by clicking the person icon in the upper left corner.

Go to the User Pages section, then select "Notifications" to access the Notification management page.

- Notifications
On the Notification management page, you will have the option to apply default preferences for notifications across all of your groups and communities.
You will start by enabling each option that is not already enable. You will have In-Product notifications and Email notifications to enable or disable at any time.

Once enabled you will have the option to apply "Global" default settings that will apply to any community or group that you are a part of. Your setting will display the current "Overall Notification Levels" setting for each type of Notification, In-Product or Email, and you can adjust as needed

You can choose from the following Notification Levels:
- None- You will not receive any notification from any Community or Group you are a part of.
- Low - You will receive only the highest priority notification such as urgent content is available.
- Medium - You will receive notifications such as someone has responded to a Question you posted.
- High - You will receive less high priority notifications along with high priority notifications such as someone has responded to your comment.
- All - You will receive notifications for all actions specified under the Customize notification list for all Communities and Groups you are a member of.
Along with applying default settings at the Global level, which will apply to all Communities and Groups that you are a member of, you can also apply settings for individual communities and specific groups within those communities. Individual Community and Group settings can be accessed under the "Individual Community Settings" section of the Notification Settings page.

Although you can apply default settings, you can also activate and deactivate each individual setting by clicking the "Customize" tab in the upper right hand corner of the "Overall Notification Levels".

You will see a lock appear next to the individual customized setting if you have updated an option from the customized list.

Content Status
With the 3.3. Upgrade, users with contributor, editor, or admin group roles can now adjust the status value for the articles, events and questions that they are creating. The status options are Draft, Publish, Archive.
Draft Status
When first creating a new piece of content, the content will be Draft mode until you update the status.

You will see a message at the top of the content page where you can click "Publish it" at anytime to publish the content.

You can also hover over the Article, Event, or Question tab when in a content page and adjust the settings in the menu that appears upon hovering.

Once published, a notification will be sent out to all group members that new content is available. You can update the status for a published article at any time by hovering over the Article, Event or Question tab and selecting "Revert to Draft" or "Archive".

You can archive Articles, Events and Question at any time by selecting the Archive option from the menu that displays when hovering over the articles tab.

Updated Content Search
When searching for content, the search screen will by default show Published and Draft content based on the "Status" filter option.

If you are the content creator, a group Editor or a group Admin, you will be able to filter for Archived content.

Archived contend will not be available to include in Group layout panels and cannot be edited unless it is reverted to Draft or Published status.
"Urgent" Setting for Content
If you are creating and editing content, you can now apply the content property of "Urgent", located in the content settings menu, and group members will receive a notification that urgent content is available once the setting has been applied
In order to apply the "Urgent" setting, go to settings under the submenu that appears when hovering over the Article, Event or Question tab when in a piece of content.

You will then check the Urgent setting as needed. In-Product and Email notifications will fire to group members that have a minimum level of Overall notifications set to Low, Medium, High or All.
