Action Items are tasks or assignments for individual group members that are visible to everyone in the group. They are added to articles and appear in the sidebar when viewed on a large screen or after the article content on mobile devices. For each action item, users can track progress and add notes as they work.
Frequently used Action Items may be saved as a Workflow so that they can easily be added to other articles. A Workflow is saved at either the group or community level, and they can ibe private if they relate to private group efforts, such as board meetings. In general, Workflows are helpful when a meeting or project typically results in follow up tasks. For instance, a staff meeting may be followed up by posting the meeting minutes so that employees who missed the meeting can stay informed. Another example is the new volunteer or staff training process, which likely has paperwork to fill out, videos and materials to read, and other set activities. See this sample article where the Action Items came from a Workflow.
